Howdy all. Decent day outside, between rains. I watered the front flowers because it didn’t look like it would rain, and then it did a little. Nothing major though. Hey, I also cleaned out the bird bath and refilled it, and rinsed the pollen/maple tree twirlies off the drive and walk.
I admit that isn’t much, but tomorrow I will transplant a couple of those little cherry tomato plants that buried me in fruit towards the end of last summer. Also, I moved the pepper plant seedlings towards the garage for putting in pots on deck. I have 4 self watering pots on the deck that I usually plant flowers. This year, one will have flowers (already done) and the other 3 will each have a few tiny pepper seedlings. Three varieties.
So, the click bait title… The last few days, I’ve noticed my Apple watch (series 8) with GPS, Cellular, and O2 sensor, has been super bright display, and the battery lasting only about 14 hours. I figured I somehow changed a setting. Well, I found the brightness setting, and it was on low. And no matter how I changed the setting, the screen stayed the same. Ugh. I reset the setting for “always on” to no, hoping that would help with the battery, and put it on the charger last night.
Yep, it certainly helped. Now there is zero display — pure darkness — and it doesn’t respond to anything. When I first got up this morning, the iPhone noted the watch was fully charged. I used Google AI to see if there was anything I could do. It suggested a setting that is use to hide the display, but it was off. I tried flipping it a few times — from the iPhone, the watch is black.
The last suggestion was to do a full reboot of the watch. That worked. NOT. It powered off and now even the iPhone doesn’t see it. The help says go see repair.
I looked up cost, and it was just about same as buying a new watch. And, the Series 8 is too old to get new. A used/renewed one costs nearly the price of the Series 10.
I’ve ordered a Series 10 through AT&T as an upgrade to my account. I figure that will make it easier to pass on the existing phone number.
It may arrive by Friday and I can once again, Enjoy Life
