07-04-2025 — Happy Friday

Howdy all. Sure doesn’t feel like an Independence day. Maybe a good alien invasion would be useful about now. Or, quoting the movie, “Up yours!”.

Anyway, I looked at available 3D prints for the holiday, and picked this.

Our country is on the same path as a butterfly.  No idea which way it will turn next.   And sadly, a short lifespan.  May Freedom Fly!!

Ignoring my obvious feelings of depression, I do hope that anyone reading this, today, or in the future, have a fabulous day with friends and family, and Enjoy Life.

It is tomorrow now (7-5). I figure I’d toss a couple videos that say a lot of the fireworks around here. I am right beside a nice sized park field — soccer and mini-baseball fields. And plenty of grass in between for kids to play while the games are happening. Oh, and the park continues across a tiny driveway width road to the playgrounds and picnic areas at the edge of Lake Erie.

So, people do gather around the park and show off how much disposable beer and cigarette money they have wasted on fireworks. Usually I can see 4 or 5 major displays, either in the park, or headed over the lake. This year, one was coming from the other side of the park from this house, and they went boom almost above me. UGH!!!

The second video shows what it looked like from inside the house. This is my 3D printer/crafting room.

I was in bed around the 10:00 when these were shot. The displays went from like 9:30 until 10:30, and were mostly done by 11. Kitty left her bedroom and came and slept under my bed until they were over. Then she returned to patrolling the house downstairs and upstairs to ensure no intruder entered to stop me from feeding her in the morning.

Something tells me that next year, #250 for the U.S., will see even bigger displays. Just not sure how anyone will be able to afford to buy the boom-booms so they can pretend to Enjoy Life.
