05-15-2026 — Plenty of nuthin

Howdy all. It is a Friday, and not a bad day outside. Upper 50s at noon, headed to low 60s. And some sunshine. Could see 70s by Monday/Tuesday, before dropping. That would be nice.

Right now, there are some strawberry plants sitting in my mailbox waiting for me to go out there and rescue them — and then plant in some of the bigger empty spots in the back garden beds.

I’m also waiting for the lawn guys to show and mow for this week. It was wet a lot of Wednesday, and I guess they are so far behind for the week, they couldn’t get here yesterday either. With the coolness of the weather, the grass really doesn’t look too overgrown yet, but I would think if they miss the week, by next Wednesday it will look pretty shaggy.

Next Wednesday is also the day I have the long dentist appointment — First a cleaning, then they will rip apart the eye tooth on the upper right side (number 7 in dental speak). It has been filled and repaired a lot in the past, and they are afraid it is likely to crumble on its own and make adding a crown impossible. So they will control the crumble, and then do the molds for a crown on Wednesday. Likely a couple weeks later they’ll be able to do the first fitting of said crown, and then send it back to be redone, for a final fitting sometime late June.

Kitty’s vet office sent notice that she is due for her yearly “wellness” exam right around then. I tried to schedule the appointment online, but they only show May availabilities presently. I’m sure when June gets here, I can do it then. She won’t be excited to be put in her traveling box and driven there and back. Not looking forward to that at all.

Right now, she is hiding under her blanket at the open window, sleeping and watching for birds. I freshly washed it, and the others from other kitty beds, with my weekly load of laundry earlier today.

I like to make sure the blankets are Kitty Glitter (fur) free before housekeeping comes to do their cleaning. They will remove tons of Glitter for furniture and surfaces and fixtures. That is mostly what is needed. Housekeeping also cleans up my messes in the kitchen. I don’t seem to do a good job there.
