06-06-2026 — Rainless not Painless

Howdy all. Summer showed up yesterday and may stick around. We got to 80 Fahrenheit yesterday. Mid 70s today. And looks like 70s and 80s for the next 10 days maybe. What we didn’t get was the rain that was porncasted for the last few days. It rained last on May 23rd. Today is June 6th. That’s like 14 days. So, I was out watering the garden today. First I had to add the valve splitter to the outdoor spigot, and then the new hose and an old sprinkler. Left it running on the back beds for over an hour while I used the shorter flexible hose to water beds nearer the garage.

My back refuses to stop hurting. Well, actually, I seem to refuse to stop hurting my back — Somebody needs to do things around here. Kitty doesn’t help much.

The new battery for the EcoFlow was delivered yesterday afternoon. I did move it inside the garage, without unboxing, and it is sitting on a dolly for when I do try to install it.

While I was watering the tomatoes, I did see this one.

I could not resist picking it.

Here it is surrounded by a dozen indoor tomatoes I harvested today. Just a little bigger and more color for the outside one.

So it looks like I’ll soon be harvesting outdoor tomatoes again. Yippee.

The potato plants are also doing great. They are flowering now. That means the greenery growth is slowing down, and the tuber growth underground is starting. Harvest time begins when the greenery flops over and browns up.

The different leaves are due to the plants being of differing varieties of potatoes.

Looks like there are a few varieties that sprouted. I believe the stems represent the color of the potato skins. So I see green(yellow) and red and purple stems. Should make for a nice rainbow of potatoes at harvest time.

Potatoes are good for you. Lots of vitamins and, more importantly, a great source of fiber. And good eats makes it good to Enjoy Life
