01-12-2026 — Another chilly day

Howdy all. I got up to another chilly, breezy day. At least the winds will stay under 20-35 mph today. And presumably, no new snow today.

When I was getting up this morning.

Now at 11 am. Melting quickly. Even with temp of 31 degrees.

Sleep update. Well, I tried to do my “normal” sleep cocoa and herbal Chamomile tea, and took the CBD/THC gummy with it. That was at 6:30 pm. Then I took my original hemp and THC gummies (one of each) around 7:30. I was ready for bed by 8:30. But, by 9 pm my mind was not happy. I could feel the “high” coming on, and my control lessening. That is not the feeling I want. I want relaxed and sleepy. Not out of control. I’ll leave that to the younger world. That “high” lasted for a few hours. I did fall asleep by 10 (off and on) and only got out of be for water around midnight (and was still a little uncomfortable), and then more water around 4 am. Yep, I slept off and on (mostly on) for those 4 hours. And even another half hour between 6-7 after which I got up and took a nice warm shower.

The upstairs was / is around 58 degrees, so the after shower experience was chilling.

Great for hibernating. Not so great when you are standing with nothing covering you but water.

I did set up my two mushroom kits in the upstairs’ bathroom tub. On a seat/shelf to make it easier to reach the boxes. Now they will sit there cover, collecting CO2 in their bags, until next weekend. Then I will open the bags and pour cold water on the surface to push the growth of the shrooms. Once again, these are normal eating White Button and Crimini (baby portabella) mushrooms.
