04-08-2026 — Well, mow me down
Howdy all. Brrr.. It was barely 20 degrees Fahrenheit outside this morning. Fortunately, low winds for a change. Anyway, I had to go to the ATM for cash. I was going to stop at grocery store too, but I didn’t want to turn off the truck. It had barely started. Two dead cranks, and then it started on the third. I really need to remember to start it up more often. Anyway, on the way to the ATM, I saw people were scraping ice off their windshields in many a driveway. Very frosty out there.
Oh, and the reason I needed the cash, is because today the lawn service starts their weekly mowing for the year. It isn’t really needing cut right now, but I’m sure if we really do have a spring week as forecasted, it would be shaggy soon. It is supposedly going to be sunny and a high of 56 this afternoon. Then the next week will stay above freezing.
The lawn guys are going to have fun for the next couple of weeks navigating all of the utility flags in the front yard. They aren’t legally allowed to remove them for 3 weeks.
I have zero plans for today, but may try a little gardening tomorrow, after it warms up a bit. We will see.
On the not trying to be political front. It was TACO Tuesday yesterday. The good news is that just before the deadline, a temporary cease-fire was announced between Iran and the U.S. A tad later, Israel said they would agree to the 2-week agreement too. And possibly, the oil waterway will be opened for the period. Of course, Iran was still bombing sites in the area after the agreement was announced, and many hours later, as Israel bombed the crap out of Lebanon, they stated that was not part of the agreement and they plan to continue to kill everything in sight.
What the “agreement” did do was to cause the stock markets to dramatically rise, and oil prices to fall 10-15 percent. I’m sure some people made a pile of money on the agreement. And will reverse their financial stakes just as rapidly, as the agreement fails and the markets reverse.
No insider trading there, for sure.
I really need to stop with the political crap. It just causes grief. That is no way to Enjoy Life
