04-09-2025 -- It has moved.

Hello all. Another chilly start to the day. A crisp 23 overnight. In the upper 30s now I think. It is noonish. At least the winds speeds are in the single digits for a change. It is sunny though. I just looked the the 10 day forecast, and there are no more 20s in it. Hopefully it will stay that way.

So, today was the day the K40 laser was to go upstairs. And it did. I was almost afraid to try. The back twinge was active this morning when I reached to the side while changing the trash bag in the little bin in my bedroom. “Active” as in, somebody slammed a knife in my back — well, it felt like that.

But, after more Dual Action Advil, and a liberal application of Absorbine Sr., I was ready to give it a go.

This was at the midway point on the landing at the turn of the staircase. It barely fits between the hand rails, and I could not have been part of the team-lift if I had one. No way me and that box could fit in the stairwell. As for the “Over 30Kg”, it felt more like 30 tons. Oh my.

Here it is at the top of the stairs. Once I started, I had no choice but to get it off the stairs. Couldn’t get around it.

I slid it into the laser toy room.

It was in a box within a box, and surrounded by tons of styrofoam and hard cardboard corners.

I could not lift it out of the internal box. I had to “roll” it on the side and slide it out. Notice it is about 2 inches lower than the top of the table. That meant the only way up was a dead lift.

And I thought I was dead after that lift. Why the heck didn’t they tape the top door down, and the crumb tray in? Both tried to fall away as I am doing my best to lift with my knees, and ignore my back.

I really thought there would be more space on the table. But it does fit.

Plenty of space around the front and side. Just can’t put anything else on table. Like the water chiller. Hmmm. Guess that will go on the floor.

I removed all of the packing material from the inside, and tossed it with the rest of the packaging foam and cardboard, into the box for trash day tomorrow.

I’m guessing the packaging was around 25-30 pounds. Add that to the “net” weight from the specifications for the laser unit, and the total is right around 100 pounds. But I did it !!!

My living room is box free for now.

I need to unbox the water chiller, and get it hooked up. Then calibrate the laser and do all that jazz. All of this before attempting to test it out and Enjoy Life
