04-19-2026 — Freeze ahead

Howdy all. The weather sure did shift back from spring to winter quickly. And just keeps getting worse for planting. My EcoFlow battery backup system has a feature that watches the forecast, and when storms are coming, it charges to full.

Fortunately, for me, this round of thunderstorms slid by to the north and south. I had only a single electrical blip that likely didn’t last a second.

So today, we got this alert for tonight.

Possibly hitting lows in mid-20s overnight tonight. And for tomorrow, we won’t even get out of the 30s. Lovely. But just possibly, I hope, this may be the last freeze of the year.

I’m ready for the change.

Most of the trees, around here, are budding out now, and filling the voids. Flowers are popping up, making life a little brighter.
