04-30-2026 — April Out

Howdy all. Well, I made it through April. But May is starting cold and wet too. Ugh. The next 3 days will see 30s each day. Highs mid 40s. And when we see 50 again on Sunday-Monday, the rains are back. Not great for planting my new tomato plants.

This was just after taking trash cans to curb. I think I left my frozen fingers out there too.

It is now around 2 pm, and still in 40s. I received the last of the replacement tomato plants yesterday, and instead of planting them, I added a little water and moved them into the dining room under the indoor garden’s grow lights.

They will stay here until Monday at best. Should be happy there.

These are indoor tomatoes planted in late 2024. They stopped producing anything larger than a pea, for months, but are producing nice big grape sized tomatoes again.

These three tomatoes were seeds planted back on October 13, 2025.

I took my truck out for the first time in a month. Mileage is at 29,944 now. When I go to the dentist this coming month, I should roll over 30K finally. Today was just to recharge the battery. It was an impulse thing. Was bringing in empty trash cans, and thought I should start truck in garage. Grabbed the keys, and got in truck to start it. Barely enough oomph to start. Decided to take a couple rounds around the park, and pull back in garage. Once out on the street, figured I’d go to ATM. Um, no wallet. Okay, a few moments later, I thought about heading to grocery for liquid eggs. Um, no wallet. As I was sitting on side street, about to get on Route 20, oops, I better not drive without my driver’s license. It’s in the wallet. So, just drove one street over and headed back to house.

Did notice that gasoline at the two stations, was running at $4.39 for the cheap, watery stuff, and $6.00 for diesel. Wow. Truck still can go a little more than 200 miles before I must buy gasoline for it.

Anyway, when I got back to the garage, I left the truck running, with garage doors open, for another ½ hour. Battery is back over 12.3 volts. Not great, but should last another couple weeks without charging, so it can continue to Enjoy Life
