06-23-2025 — Hot and dry

Howdy all. Decided I should water plants today. Another scorcher expected with bad air quality too. I got a slightly later start than I wanted, and so far, only did backyard plants.

Notice this is 10:30 am. Temps pushing 90 and humidity over 80. Nice and comfy for nobody.

Cucumber plants loving the sunshine and warm soil. Lots of blossoms, but no fruit has managed to hang on yet.

Pepper plants doing okay, but look at the tomato bed to the back. The plants are trying to escape already, and there are some grape sized fruit on some of the tomato plants in that bed and the ones out by the fence.

I pulled some of the carrots crowding the pepper plants, hoping those peppers will start growing more.

Look at these yet to be fully grown carrots 🥕 especially that yellow version.  I planted multi colored seeds in with the regular.  This is the not orange one.  

And lots of tiny growths from the beans.  

Potatoes are looking like they might be ready to end their season.  The plants were smaller than last week. And no new blossoms.  Almost wanted to dig a plant or two to check.  

I’ll get the front plants late this afternoon when the house shades them from the sun. Way too hot out there and they would likely burn.
