Howdy all. No rain yesterday. Maybe tonight they say. We will see.

In Old News:

I am still working on switching my Network setup, and getting prepped for Kinetic to create a fast fiber link to the house. Yesterday I worked more with the Ubiquity Cloud Gateway, and the Google Wifi to get it working properly. And because of that, this morning, I could get into the control panel via this computer.

That’s one impressive control panel. No idea what 99% of it does.

This morning I unconnected the AT&T Internet Air gateway and boxed it up. Then I called AT&T to cancel the service. I sure do appreciate how they do things. The gentleman (American / English speaking!!), guided me through my options. Even though I could have kept the service for a reduced price, he had no problem putting in the cancel for the end of this billing cycle — August 8th. He will be emailing me a return shipping label for UPS to attach to the box for shipping the gateway back - by September 9th.

Now, you would think that was good enough, but nope. He then looked at the rest of my account, and said that based upon my call/text/data usage, I was really overpaying for my phone/watch service. By switching to a newer plan that “limits” the unlimited data by throttling after 5 Gigs of data, I could save about $30 per month. And we checked the last year, and not in any given month did I even exceed 1 Gig.

So, because of his due diligence, I will be saving approximately $75 per month between dropping Air, and the new plan. Way to go AT&T!!

In a slightly more “fun” version of Old News, I need an opinion.

Should I do the “old” man duty and yell, “GET OFF MY GRASS!”? — Nah, kids just being kids. Let them Enjoy Life

Oh, no Chuckie, don’t do it. One of my new this year flowering bulbs has been toppled, and he is about to have an after dinner snack. I guess that’s his(her?) way to Enjoy Life
