Howdy all. It was another beautiful fall day — High in mid 70s and no rain. So I got my fat backside out there and did something useful. It ain’t perfect, but as one of my YouTube influencers says, “but it is better”.
This is the north side of the house (towards the lake). It has been a couple years (maybe 4) since I cleaned it.
If you are walking by, and don’t look up, it is looking really good. The spray powered by just my garden hose, can reach 15-20 foot of the 25+ foot of the peak.
I’ve ordered some “Spray and Forget” with an extended reach nozzle, that states it can reach 30 foot with a garden hose. We will see.
My brother came back yesterday to help with clearing up the mapping of the Breaker box.
And, it may not be perfect, but it is much better.
There are about 8 or so minor issues on the new mapping that my brother printed on his label maker, after we mapped each one. Mapping was interesting. The old map had some labeled or penciled in correctly, but many were wrong when I moved here, and many more moved about as I had American Electric add and fix circuits.
I will redo the labels that are questionable when I get a shipment of labels for my Dymo label maker. I ran out.
For example, I told my brother that the “to” and “from” generator breakers were 50 amps. He typed 50 watts instead. That’s a big difference. I’ll just change that to 240volts since most people think of volts when they see a double breaker connector
And then there are a few tandem breakers in the panel. Two of those cover a couple bedrooms each and are AFCI breakers. That is important to know. He mislabeled one of those sets by missing the bedroom completely and only mentioned it controlled the hall lights or plugs.
Oh, and I didn’t think there would be room on label to mention which floor the bathrooms were on. There is plenty of room so I will add that too.
Also we found two breakers that appear to not be used at all. Not sure why. For now they will remain off until I run into something that won’t turn on. And will label them as unknown. Next time I need an electrician, I’ll see if there is cable connected to those breakers. And if possible, have them use a tone generator on the cable and try and track it back to its user.
It feels nice to actually accomplish something, and that leads to being able to Enjoy Life
