09-18-2026 — Pure Fall begins
Howdy all. Temperature is barely over 70 today, in the sunshine. Looking at the 10 day forecast, that may be the end of the 7X temps for the period. Lots of 50s and 60s — and rain. They mowed the lawn on Wednesday (today is Friday) and with all the decent temps and rain, they actually laid down stripes that were visible for a couple of days.
Note a few “fall”ing leaves.
You can also see the poor looking tomato plants on the left. I picked those this morning.
Soon it will be getting to the last mow. They will mow about 7? more weeks. And usually there was a small snowfall by the last one. Then it will be time to have the team do a fall cleanup to remove the tons of leaves from the neighbors’ trees.
Another 2 gallon bag of red and yellow tomatoes. Most of the ripe cherry sized were split, so I threw them in middle of the yard for the critters. The plants look 80% dead. I may get one last harvest, and will pull plants as I do it in a few days.
These tomatoes are likely going to be more tomato soup. And I hope I can freeze more this time. Actually, I may grab a bag of frozen tomatoes and add them to the pot too. I figure if I make a full 3 gallon pot, maybe a half gallon will make it to the freezer.
On the power front, I read the other day that EcoFlow uses an Ebay store front to sell “reconditioned” DPUX batteries. Right now they are priced at $1700. I’m hoping with Amazon’s latest xmas in October sale, EcoFlow will drop the new price down to $2199 or less. If so, I’ll grab a new one. But if they don’t drop, I’ll go Ebay. The sale is around October 6th-7th. The recon batteries do get a 2 year to 5 year warranty (or so people are writing).
Kitty is watching to see what I do.
Either way, she and I will have power, and Enjoy Life
