10-08-2026 — Low Pain Physically
Howdy all. Oh my, the midges just keep hatching. The swarms are getting worse. The corpses are beginning to pile up at the entrances to the house. And the live ones love to swarm in as I open a door.
As nasty as they are, it was tough to just push the trash can to the curb this morning. The Waste Management team seems to have decided to put this street on an earlier shift. They are now doing pick-up real close to 9 on Thursday mornings. It used to be around 2 pm, and then 11 am. It forces me to get up at a reasonable time on Thursdays so I can get my daily necessities done, and push the cans out. I prefer to do one last Kitty litter box cleanup just before taking the last trash bag out to the can. And get the empty cat food breakfast can in there too.
As an update to the vaccines from two days ago, all is good. Other than a little redness and soreness to the surrounding skin area, no issues whatsoever. That was both the old farts’ Flu Shot and the latest Moderna COVID vaccine. 💉 into same right shoulder. Generally I don’t even notice this set. Just when I roll over in bed and lay on that shoulder. Even then I don’t bother to move. It is barely noticeable. Perhaps by body is getting used to the yearly poisoning, and just doesn’t care anymore. Good!!
Maybe there was a unexpected side effect. This morning I had a craving to have vegetables for breakfast.
That is a bag of frozen mixed vegetables over a “chow mein” noodle entree. I tossed everything bagel seasoning on top for a little texture annoyance.
It was quite tasty, and took care of the cravings. Likely this is a much more healthy breakfast than my normal omelette mixtures.
As an additional side-note, the EcoFlow DPUX battery is expected to arrive on 10/12 (Monday), via FedEx. Good. We had a couple quick flips in street power this last week. A couple of outages just east/south of here may have been the cause when the workers switched things about to get the power back. Our turn for an outage will be coming again. Getting to 24 KWH of battery backup will make me feel more secure, and able to Enjoy Life
