11-01-2025 — Postweenie

Howdy all. So yesterday was Halloween and it was the normal here. Cold and windy and really not the weather I would want to be walking outside for a couple of hours. But, lots of costumed individuals were. My neighbor, to the south, runs a “Soup Kitchen” booth from his driveway. It draws hundreds (thousands?) of people. I know it has a sign out front that says “You must be wearing a costume”, but I don’t know how strongly he enforces that.

I do know it seemed like fewer people last evening than last year. It could have been the 35 mph winds off the lake, or, just the fact that people seemed to be lining up on the south side of the booth, instead of in front of my driveway.

It was at least this busy for the whole two hours. This was before 6:20 when the sun set.

While I was not watching the entire time, Kitty was most of it.

Hey, some good news. Almost all of the bugs (midges (Canadian Soldiers)) are gone. Just one or two on the windows now. The rains and high winds and lower temperatures, seem to have finished them off.

And, with the buggies gone, the critters are coming back. I’m finally seeing birds and squirrels and raccoons again.

This stinker is getting his chub on for the winter. Waddling like me!
