Howdy all. Hopefully my German class lessons from 50 - 60 years ago, are still semi-adequate. Winter truly arrived late yesterday.

Do you wanna build a snowman?

Temperatures fell through the 30s, and by morning had hit the magical 32 Fahrenheit (0 Celsius).

Birds now have an ice rink, instead of a bath.

But with the warm ground, the snow is melting quickly.

Maybe this will finally kill those blasted midges that keep coming back.

At least it is covering up the messy leaves.

The garden is now a slip and slide.

The deck looks neatly ready for even more snow.

Now a quick Political Rant. Um, which side “won” with the government shutdown? Seems like neither. And the real losers are the American public. Of course, when I get my $2000 Tariff check, and my $5000 DOGE check, and I don’t have to pay $7000 in federal tax on my Social Security (along with the $6000 extra deductible — that I will only get a portion of), and I get my $200-$500 senior assistance check, and gas prices remain at $2.00, and my drug costs go down 1000%, and my health insurance costs get cut in half, I will likely think differently. Both political parties are making a lot of financial promises, that they have zero intention of keeping.

What I have seen this year are grocery prices about 10-15% higher than last year, gas staying right around the $3.00 range, my medical insurances sending me notices showing increases of 15% or more, an occasional notice that “I” owe a tariff on some item I purchase online to save money, and so many people that rely on government assistance, like SNAP, saying they are concerned about meals this month.

How about the government “of the people”, and “for the people” start thinking of people?

Then we could all Enjoy Life
