12-02-2025 — But Snow Season is in full swing.
Howdy all. Woke up to low winds, low temperatures (25 or so) and a low covering of snow. Maybe 2 inches of the white stuff on the harder surfaces.
I use the leaf blower to get the pile of leaves away from the front door, out into the yard, in hopes they next inch or two of snow today, will cover them up and make them stay out there for the winter.
I only shoveled off the walkway, and in front of the garage door. (No more leaves?). After it stops snowing, I’ll either use the snowblower, or
if I’m lucky, the yard guys will hit the driveway with their snowplow. Since I have a 2 inch trigger for an event, they may not think 2 inches fell here if it hasn’t near them, or south down the street. With this amount, it would be reasonable for me to use my snowblower and only take 15-20 minutes.
Now should a morbidly obese, 70+ year-old man, with bad lungs, and a questionable heart, shovel snow? Sure, if he wants to Enjoy Life
Quick update from later in the day. === around 6:30 pm
I did done gone and do’d it. Of course the warm ground helped. While another inch of snow fell, the 3-3.5 inches total, melted some.
The snowblower handles a small amount like this with ease. 8-10 swipes and it is gone. Especially since the winds were low and not making it impossible as it does frequently.
Kitty was allowd to see what was behind the first door of her 12 day Advent calendar. A little package which may smell a little of catnip?
I progressed a little with the Xmas card packets today. Just taping up the various boxes and putting temp labels everywhere, and choosing which retail card will be sent, took a few hours.
Shoot, not even all the boxes are taped up yet. Not sure what size will be needed for a few of them. And the USPS hasn’t delivered the one version yet.
I also started separating boxing/wrapping materials away from the stuff that will need assembly.
And I brought down from upstairs, a heat gun and a glue gun and a table to assemble things on. And labels and wrapping paper and stickers, and other needed stuff.
I really like this table. It is quite sturdy, and can go from a low level like a coffee table, to a dining table height, to a stand-up bar height, quite easily. And yet, it folds so flat, it is only an inch or two wider than the table top == great for storing.
