01-19-2026 — Blizzard

Howdy all. The next 10 days are not going to be nice. Temps started falling from 20 ish this morning, as the winds picked up to 45 mph, and the snow started to fall/blow about. Looks sort of like this.

Then, after 15 minutes or so, you get to thinking it isn’t that bad.

Looks peaceful for a few minutes. Then the winds pick up again.

And you realize, that with the temperature being 17 degrees, and the winds approaching 45 mph, that the wind-chill is a stunning MINUS 13-15 Fahrenheit. That’s minus 25 or 26 Celsius for those of you that know better.

You can freeze off every single digit in the time it takes you to count them. Brrr.

This is right now at 2:50 pm. In the open areas, like over the park across the street, the snow just keeps on moving. Closer to the houses, it piles up in “convenient” drifts.

Fortunately, today is a federal holiday (Martin Luthor King Day), so traffic is lessened with people having the day off and being able to stay at home. However, tomorrow, a normal Tuesday, will be taxing with back to work happening. The temperatures will stay around single digits, and real feel temperatures will be deep in the MINUS Fahrenheit territory. Not many of those driving in the morning will believe they can Enjoy Life
