04-22-2025 -- Tag update
Hello all. I think the weather is finally going to try spring. Not raining this morning, winds are slowing down some, and the sun is out. High in mid 50s today. May play in garden some tomorrow. Plant some cucumber plants that are getting too tall indoors. And throw down more carrot seeds.
Tomato and peppers won’t arrive for a couple weeks from Burbee online. I have some peppers started indoors, but they are barely an inch tall and wouldn’t last the walk to the garden yet.
So, I am trying to get my filament tagging process going. Having printed of lots of sliders and tags, and getting lots of sticky pads to attach them (from Amazon), I started today. Not much progress, but it is a start. And I got most of the boxes and such off the floors.
Here are a couple of the moisture/air proof containers now holding a couple of the green leftovers. I tried to “write” information on one, and I can’t write well on a vertical service that moves. Looks horrible. The other one I have a holder for a swatch from Bambu Lab. I thought I found it and put it in there, but obviously didn’t. Hmmm
Here are 4 open spools, inside of a couple driers. I added the swatches/holders to each bay. And it looks like I got the right ones from what I see. The variety of the filament is embossed on those swatches.
On the AMS 2 Pro units on the X1 Carbon, I printed specific tags for the Black and White filament. I don’t imagine swapping other colors into those slots and will be just adding more of the same filament. On A3 and A4 I attached a swatch holder and found the correct swatches.
On the 2nd AMS unit for the X1, I know I’ll be using PETG filaments, and, if you look closely, you can see a gray and a translucent swatch in the first two holders. The B3 and B4 slots are still empty.
I have started printing off specific tags for some of the AMS slots for the P1S printer now. Colors I know will always be in the first AMS, like Black/White/Blue/Green. These are either PLA Basic, or PLA Matte filaments. Not that it matters much. Basic and Matte filaments use similar bed and nozzle temperatures.
Nice to have this set done. Running the set for the C AMS unit now. Cotton Candy/Red/Yellow/Brown all PLA Basic. The B unit has 4 greens in it at the moment. That’s the one I’ll likely swap out for some new colors soon.
And as a final picture for the day, I took this Monday morning about 2 am. Woke up and felt like somebody was watching me. Looked all around, then up to the top of the headboard and saw this.
Reminds me of the Snoopy the Vulture comic strips. Kitty was just making sure I was breathing. Either that, or she was planning on making sure I wasn’t breathing. Those eyes are scary.
I’m glad she can Enjoy Life.
