04-19-2025 -- Cleanup on Produce Aisle
Howdy all. Ooh, a seldom seen 2 post day. Yep. Rain/winds keep cycling through. So, I needed something to keep my mind off of that. I looked over at my Click and Grow hydroponics planters and thought they were a total mess.
Thus, time for a clean-up.
The tomato plants on the bottom right were just about dead. Upper right ones needed some pruning and a harvest. The Basil and Parsley was long past due a harvest. And the peppers on the bottom left were so concentrating on leaves and new blossoms, the little peppers weren’t ripening.
A big bowl of parsley needing the leaves picked off the stems. Smells really good.
But nowhere near as good smelling as this basil. I see tomato basil soup for lunch, right soon.. And some of the basil in tomorrow’s omelette too.
And the after photo. Lots of tiny tomatoes on the counter to finish ripening. The bottom right ready for either more plants, or a deep cleaning — not sure which yet. The parsley and basil topped and all dead leaves removed. Same with the peppers. Removed lots of blossoms and leaves and cleared the area at the base of the plants so no more suckers grow. And the tomatoes at the upper right are ready to continue producing. I did add liquid fertilizer to the reservoirs of the remaining plants, and topped of the water too.
By the way, the little vacuum you see on the lower right is a battery wet vacuum that makes this kind of cleanup much easier. Not in stock at the moment at Amazon, but a great little wet vac. https://amzn.to/42wev5n
Another temporary break in the stormy weather. Hope this one lasts for a bit so I can not be anxious, and can Enjoy Life
