Howdy all. Just another wet, chilly day in Ohio. Not enough rain to be useful, but enough to make the below average temperatures feel much chillier.
But today was slightly different for me. Yep, back to work. Sitting in an office, working for da’ man.
Bet ya’ never thought you’d see that again.
And you aren’t seeing it now!! Not a chance in Ohio (that’s spelled H, E, double hockey sticks), that I’m ever going to be employed again!!!
I’ve been needing a hair trim for a few weeks now. It kept falling over ears and, worse, into my eyes.
So this morning, I pulled out the FlowBee and thinning shears, and trimmers, and went crazy with all of them. My hair may be thinning on top, towards the front as I get much older, but the ring of hair over the ears, and around the back is still super thick. The barbers used to spend twice as much time thinning my hair, as they did shortening it. Well, I still spent a lot of time with the thinning shears, and then a thinning comb, before attempting to get the top to a fixed length with the FlowBee (It is a set of criss-crossing blades, inside a vacuum cleaner hose attachment. It sucks your hair in the thing and can’t cut it any shorter than the length of attachment you use. Saves on the shaved spots!!).
Anyway, after the FlowBee, then regular scissors will shorten stuff over ears, and “bangs”. Then I use a tapering hair shape-style comb that has a razor blade built in. I have a small roundish version that works easily on the sides of the head, and a long comb like one that works great for combing a slight taper to the back of the head.
Am I good at this? No, not really. But I get a little better each time I try.
As for style, well, my hair style consists of combing straight back while the hair is wet, and letting it naturally part down the middle, because of gravity, as it dries. That does mean the front flops about, on each side of the forehead, with a slight bend.
Does it look good on me? Who gives a fork? It is out of my ears, and out of my eyes, and doesn’t catch in the collar. That’s a good haircut to me.
Someone asked to see the cut, so I took a Selfie, and then, ran an AI request to replace the background with an office. Almost looks real.
Thus today, I am not employed, and can Enjoy Life
