06-11-2026 — Flower to the people

Howdy all. And now it is massive summer. Heat Advisory for the area, after a storm advisory late yesterday. Heat Index around 100 degrees Fahrenheit for later today. And around 9-11 pm last night, lightning lit up the sky, and thunder made the house shake. UGH!! I was laying in bed shaking from inside, in between the booms shaking the bed from outdoors. Not nice at all.

Adding up all of the actual rainfall though, it may have been ¼ to ½ inch at best. That’s including the secondary storm that blew through this morning around 6 am. At least I won’t have to water garden for another day or two.

Flower power.   These big flowers are from some of the bulbs I planted.   Not all popped yet.

These are a few sunflower plants out front that are either from seeds I tossed or from the bird feeders.  Not sure which. Could be interesting to see how they grow.  

The plants between the bushes are also from bulbs. These are off of the deck out back.

The tiny yellow flowers are amongst carrot plants, and other flower plants, in one of the back beds.  Not very impressive, but at least there is some color.

And a colorful Cardinal decided to chance Chippy’s aggression, to eat some of the fallen seeds from the bird feeders. I think this is the picture that also shows how much of a pig Chippy is. Look at his cheeks. There must be a cupful of seeds inside. He knows a full tummy is the way to Enjoy Life
