07-21-2025 — Cool and dry and humid

Howdy all. We are in a few day cool down. Temperatures nightly in 60s, and daily in 70s. But no rain. None even predicted for the coming week. But temps will rise. And it is Humid. Ugh. And poor Air Quality, of course. I was out this morning to water all the plants. They needed it a lot. Yesterday I went out and sprayed for weeds in flower beds and around the perimeter of the house and yard. I used a “pet-friendly” premixed version. It did do the job on the weeds I sprayed. At least the leaves are browning and dying. Hopefully the roots go too.

I need to harvest more cucumbers. If I don’t, the plants will think their season is over. I gave all the prior harvest (taters/beans/cukes) to my housekeeper on Saturday. There are easily a dozen cucumbers on those 3 plants, that must be picked. And dozens more coming.

While I was watering, I pulled a couple carrots and nibbled on them. Threw the carcasses on the lawn for the nightly critter visitors to see if they are interested in them.

This was one I tried to “pull” this morning. That’s about 14 inches long in the middle. The sideways root made the plant impossible to pull out. I had to dig it out. Tasted like carrot. Looked like Groot.

I’m waiting for my 3D printer room table’s shelf (plywood 36x24x1/2) to be delivered today. Then I can unpack lots of PETG filament I bought during Amazon Prime days, onto the rolling filament stands I’ve assembled, and situate them on that shelf. Will help declutter the room some. Should be able to get 40-45 rolls just on that shelf. And the rolling stands “should” be able to be rolled around on the shelf, so I can easily reach the filament I require. That will allow, at least in this small way, to Enjoy Life.
