07-26-2025 — Not a Scent
Howdy all. It is 8 pm, and I just finished binging the first of three seasons of Bosch Legacy. I had been binging on the prior 7 seasons of Bosch, over the last 8-10 days. I am obviously enjoying it. Surprised I hadn’t even heard of the show prior to my brother mentioning it a couple months ago. And even then, I did watch it until I fell into a spinoff show called Ballard. I was binge watching it, and the “Bosch” character showed up.
So I had to find that and watched it. I guess I am recommending the 3 series. On Prime now.
Anyway, later yesterday I received a shipment of 80 quarts of dry potting mix to add to the 32 quarts I already had, and try an fill up that raised garden bed section, back by the fence. This is the one I planted with potatoes this year, and then, during harvest, realized there was only 3 inches of soil above the water reservoirs I had put in that bed.
Could easily put in another 40 quarts (about a cubic foot and a half) in there. But will wait to see what I plant next spring.
The tomato beds beside it could use some attention too. Another 80 quarts probably to get them back to a good planting height.
So over the fall-to-spring, when the bags go on sale, I’ll order a few. But I’m getting a little too old to handle the two cubic foot bags that weigh about 45 pounds each. 20-25 is about my limit to carry from the front of the house back to the fence. I could get my drag sled out I guess, but we will see how I feel come spring.
Another good sized skunk visited over night. Amazing how much tail there is per the size of the body. This one looks like a miniature compared to that one I caught on camera a couple years ago. It’s tail alone was the size of this guy/gal.
Just glad nothing spooked them, and they just eat a bunch of bugs and Enjoy Life.
