08-02-2025 — Shelving an idea.
Howdy all. Another wonderful day outside with temps going from mid50s overnight to low 70s this afternoon. Overcast a little, and mild winds. And more bad Air Quality (can’t be all good). No rain in 10 day forecast still. So that 1/4 inch is all we will see for like a month period. Phew. Anyway, the garden is ugh. I did try to do something with the cucumber harvest.
Doesn’t a cucumber sub sandwich sound great? Nope, just didn’t work for me. Still just a lot of cucumber taste. I may try the roast or air fry of cucumber spears.
After another lousy sleep night, I figured I should try to be a little active, even if I was tired. So, I went upstairs and I done gone and did this finally. The upper wood shelf can hold 8-10 of those cereal containers that are perfect for sealing in open rolls of filament. The lower will have desiccant packs. And then a few filament racks that could in theory hold about 40 -50 rolls.
Thus I cleaned up a couple of the shelving unit’s shelves to put what I needed in visible space.
And, look at the hallway at the top of the stairs. You see a carpet and a wall. Every single item is moved.
One of those boxes was a lithium battery UPS that I had forgotten. Almost bought another during Prime Days.
Lots more needs done, but I finally restarted again.
And only cut myself once and just one new big bruise on my leg. Success!!
A before shelves picture.
An after shelves installed and loaded picture. These are floating shelves. You install a bracket with pipes sticking out, on the wall, slide shelf on, and screw it to the pipe.
More room on this shelving unit makes it nicer.
It has probably been a year since this area was clear of boxes of stuff for projects. Yippee for me.
Now that I know it is relatively easy to install these type of shelves, I want to get the two up over the new CO2 laser in that room. I have everything sitting on its table waiting for me to get ‘er done.
So much else I also need to do in those rooms. Like installing upgrades to the Diode laser to do 40 watts, and get the latest software on it. And for that matter, I haven’t finished setting up and testing the CO2 Laser box. Also I need to install gizmos on the two 3D printers to make prints less likely to fail.
But at least for today, I feel like I accomplished something, so for a few hours, I can Enjoy Life.
