08-10-2026 — Sun and a Chuckie

Howdy all. We got some loud thunder this morning. And maybe ½ inch of rain since yesterday evening. Great for the garden. I went outside this morning to investigate this movie.

The security camera caught this “wasp?” hauling a larger flying critter, up the vertical rail on the deck. I was worried he was taking dinner home for the family. Nope, no nest up there, or anywhere near there, that I could see..

While I was outside, Chuckie, or Chuckie Jr., was in the grass having a quick snack. They didn’t even run off as I walked around the deck, maybe 20 feet away. Took a couple iPhone photos, and this was the best.

Anyway, while looking that direction, I noticed this single Sunflower has bloomed back by the fence.

Wow, that’s a lousy image too. I better check the lens on the phone to see if it is greasy or something. Oh well.

I had planted lots of sunflower seeds in a couple rows, at that side of the garden bed. The idea was I would have a thick line of the flowers against the fence. Well, the critters made sure that didn’t happen. But that’s okay. So instead of flowers, I get to see a bunch of animals (deer, possum, woodchucks, raccoons, squirrels, chipmunks, skunks, etc.), being able to Enjoy Life
