08-14-2026 — Sun of a Hummer

Howdy all. Summer day again. 70s headed to 80s and humid. I woke up today with a headache. And it hasn’t gone away as of now (10 am). Not a good start. I do want to share a photo or two. First, I am slowly seeing sunflowers in the back garden beds.

The “wildflower” bed concept didn’t work so good for me. Looks very messy. Not my style. But I do like the sunflowers.

Also, I’ve been trying to get photos of the many Rufous Hummingbirds that visit the feeders out front. It is tough to get a picture at all, since they come in fast, take a quick drink or two, and then fly off. I know there are at least 3. Two young males, and one female. The males have spots of a darker color on their grayish brown throats. The female does not. As the males age, the greenish feathers will become more prominent .

I’m also trying to shoot through a screen covered window. Sooner of later I’ll get a decent photo of them being able to feed and Enjoy Life
