08-13-2025 — Raindrops fell
Howdy all. Yes, you saw correctly. Raindrops fell from the sky last night. Not a terrible lot, but about 1/2 inch or so here. South, and East, of here got plenty more. I woke up this morning to see the birdbath just about full. I remember hearing thunder off and on during the sleeping hours. And Kitty came to my bedroom a few times to sleep next to me to make sure I was protected from the intrusions. I sleep better know she is there to save me.
Oh, and it did a temporary rinse of the dirt from the air. The Air Quality Index was in the green range at the start of the day. Back at yellow/orange and moderate now. Not good for me, but okay for most people. I have the window open in the family room and Kitty is sleeping on one of her pillow beds in front of it. The temperature today is supposed to stay below 80. 77 degrees out there right now. With humidity in the 85 % range. Not that bad of a day.
My pinky finger is pretty much healed. I’m sure I’ll find a way to injure myself again soon.
A lot of blood came from that little rip.
I haven’t done enough organization to show updates for the last few days. The “major’ thing I did yesterday was to replace two ceiling light bulbs in the upstairs hallway. They had been blinking for weeks, and finally decided to go almost totally dark yesterday. For me, getting on the second step of a step stool, and reaching over my head with both arms, to unscrew the light fixtures, and then replace the bulbs, and put back the fixture, is a big deal. My feet have trouble holding onto the floor and keep me stable, on the ground. Put my size 12 feet on an 8 inch step, and I am wobbling every which way. I really just want to grab onto the wall and not let go.
But those two were replaced, and there was light. And, as one might expect, this morning, when I flipped the switch, a bulb at the other end of the hall was blinking!! That one is just in the hallway, but there is no wall to lean against over the staircase. If I wobble off the step stool there, I’ll be dropping 15 foot instead of 2-3. So, it will be awhile before I attack that one. Getting old sucks. But living is preferable to not. If I don’t continue living, how could I Enjoy Life?
