09-04-2025 — Wind Power?
Howdy all. Weather? Slight change. Chilly day. High has been around the present 62 or so. And, it actually drizzled for a portion of the day. Not much though. Reported as 2 tenths of an inch of precipitation. Maybe? But it was better than the none.
There were winds overnight. Up to 25 mph. I don’t like hearing winds blowing, so it was very difficult for Kitty to convince me to get out of bed this morning. And tomorrow, they may peak closer to 35 mph gusts. I certainly won’t like that.
After a long slow start this morning, I got upstairs to move the power needs around. I did get the Air Purifier, and the Humidifier where I wanted them in the hallway. Even did a half-arse job of cleaning the humidifier’s holding tank.
I replaced the outlet, and added a nice extension cord inside a wall cord hiding box. Yes, it needs to be attached to the wall. There is double sided tape on the backside and shouldn’t take long to press the square tube in place.
You can see the purifier and humidifier in place, and the wall cord hiding waiting to be permanently attached. Had to make sure I had the pieces the proper length, so the corner piece would fit.
But, across the hall, you can see the cord cover that is to be used on that side to contain the heavier extension cord from the bathroom towards the top of the picture to the laser room at the left side of the picture. Well that extension cord is just a teeny bit too short, and is not flexible enough to run under the doors easily. Nor will it run down the wall in the bathroom from the outlet without lots of support.
Looks like a different extension cord will be needed. This one is 20 foot long, and is a 12/3 that can handle 1800+ watts (15 amps). I ordered a 25 foot long, 16/3 13 amp cord capable of about 1375 watts. That is still nearly twice the capacity as required for the devices I will plug into it. Should be here tomorrow morning sometime. It is thinner, and “flat”, which may make it easier to get under the doors.
I would have gone on and tested using this mess, but my body had other ideas. I somehow slightly twisted an ankle trying to manipulate the cords, and add to that, well, my tummy is not feeling so great. No more details on that, other than to say, I wanted to stop for awhile.
Hmm, to end this blog entry on a nicer note, here’s Kitty.
This morning, she was taking a nap after a hard night’s sleep. The “squirrel” is a hand puppet designed to allow cats to bite and scratch during play with their owners. If it is sitting somewhere, she ignores it. If I put it on my hand, she leaves the room. Kitty just doesn’t understand play.
I’ve tried every toy I can find, and mostly she runs away from them like she is about to be hit. She had a bad time before me, but now we do the best we can for her to Enjoy Life
