09-27-2025 — Outside for 45

Howdy all. Weather? No change from dry (other than that quarter inch of rain over 2 1/2 days). None in 14 day forecast. But it is getting cooler day by day. Today started around 55 and got to low 70s. No 80s in forecast, but some overnights in the 40s. Trees are turning quickly, and many are dropping leaves quite early.

I did a garden cleanup/harvest a couple days ago. Not much out there to pick. There are tons of overripe, buggy, split, cherry tomatoes. I picked as many not yet completely ripe, and not split, ones that I could. I need to remove those plants soon. Here is a picture of what I did get.

Some small purple peppers, and mostly ripe purple little tomatoes and a few small “big” tomatoes. I pulled any plant that had nothing left.

I got outside for about 45 minutes today and cleared all the dead posies from 5 of the self watering planters out front, and the 4 planters on the deck. Also cut down the lilies that bloomed about 6 weeks ago. Not a lot of work, but the air quality was not that good for “sensitive” people like me. I did a lot of huffing and puffing. Oh, I also sprayed the deck lounge cushions for mildew and mold so they can be bagged for the winter (soon!!)

I’ll try to do a little each day until I get my “fall” cleanup down out there.
