10-10-2025 — Winter Prep

Howdy all. Brrr.. Winter is near. Had a freeze/frost advisory for the area, last night. Didn’t make it to that here at the lake, but south and east they did.

I got up this morning to this. Notice that “real feel” temperature — a solid 33 freedom degrees — That’s like 0.5 degrees Celsius.

It felt that or worse. Especially out front where the lake breezes would be. Brr. Anyway, I decided I had no choice but to clear the back deck for winter. It “may” sprinkle tomorrow, and that would get the lounger pads wet again. Want them dry when storing, so as to not mildew/mold as much.

Lounge chairs and pads are bagged and tagged. Notice the time was 12:15. About 60 then, but not too bad because winds off lake are blocked by neighbor’s house. Sometimes!!!

Bird feeders and various little things went in this deck box. And the tarp cover helps when the snow piles up.

The deck box by the house has the Hose Reel in it for storage, and the various watering attachments. Hey, the good news, if there is such a thing, is that I was able to carry the hose reel up the deck steps without setting it on each step and lifting it to the next. Carried in my arms and walked up without needing to grab rails. My feet are in a little better shape than last year. Butt, and I do mean Butt, when I made the turn on the deck to face the deck box, I had to set the hose down quickly because my pants started to fall off my BUTT. I hadn’t tightened the belt today. OOPS. Butt no body got to see my body.. Not even on my security cameras.

The deck box away from the house has planting / potting soil and stuff for the planters next year.

All the deck boxes are covered and should not leak as the snow piles high on the deck. I think that completes my outdoor preparation for winter. Next will be the lawn service doing a final fall clean up when the leaves are just about done burying the yard. Until then, I will be indoors trying to Enjoy Life
