Howdy all. Decent day for winter outside. But winds are picking up again. Temperatures have been not too horrid. This is to change shortly. Come Wednesday, and then T’day, 35-45 mph winds are to be here again, along with snow and obviously chillier temps. All of the people heading to family gatherings for Thanksgiving will be at risk of bad driving conditions. Be safe out there.

I really want to get that filament drier on the AMS unit of the PLA 3D printer (P1S). So what do I do? I find things I want to print that takes hours and hours. Finished one around 3 am, and started another that will take 6-8 hours, when I finally got up just before 9 am (that’s another story paragraph). I have both 3D printers running to make do a couple of projects for Xmas, that I’ll likely be keeping, and displaying, myself.

Anyhow, I did finish the one laser project I started, and after a minor laser cleaning, started another. That has also finished. I want to do one more run of that one today. I did clean the laser box well late yesterday, so it is ready to go, if I can get my butt up there to monitor it for an hour.

A sneak look at one just finished on the laser.

That smoke from the laser burning wood sap, is why I need to clean the laser box so often.

You can’t really tell what this is yet, but I think it is pretty cool.

And on a less pleasant topic, I got an email saying check myssa dot gov for the yearly updates to my benefits. UGH

Dang it.  I’m being IRMAA’d next year by social security.   I pulled about  $5200 too much out of my IRA  in 2024, thus having too high of an income.  So they will make me pay $81.20 a month extra for Medicare Part B and $14.50 a month extra for Part D.  $95.70 total each month extra not counting the $17.90 premium increase for B and the big increases for supplemental insurance and prescription insurance.

All those extra expenses while getting only 2.8% social security benefit increase which is just $95.  That is just short of covering just the IRMAA.

Supplemental Part D is up $34 a month.  And part G went up $24 in June(it rises that month).

Bottom line is I will be paying about $175 more a month for Medicare insurance benefits while getting a $95 increase in social security.  Net loss of $80 a month.

Gee, thanks Mr President. I’m sure you taking money from me, and giving it to the mega wealthy will allow you to Enjoy Life.
