01-17-2026 — Blizzard again

Howdy all. After a break of almost a day, winter is showing its nasty side again today. While the temperature started around 34-35, it is headed down to near 10 tonight. And a few hours ago my phone and watch and Alexa devices all started to scream alert.

It was clear and somewhat sunny at that point, and the walkway and street were turning to just wet. But, within a few minutes.

A couple of fluffy inches of snow fell and blew around in less than 30 minutes, before stopping. This was just as it started.

Hopefully they will plow the road before it freezes into a lumpy ice park. My drive was a couple inches of fluff, on top of an inch of slush. That will be lovely after the next three days of sub zero windchills. It will “warm” up to almost freezing (32 degrees) sometime Wednesday. Very not nice.

I am still experimenting with sleep prepping. Last night I fell asleep early, slept a couple hours, then was awake from around midnight until 4 am. Then slept off and on. Of course, falling into a good sleep around 7 am. Had to force myself out of bed around 8:30. Could just as easily stay in bed until spring (I think that is June!!). Kitty was not happy with me not getting her breakfast on time.

She did not want me to pet her, or give her chin tickles, this morning. Not the right way to Enjoy Life
