04-30-2025 -- Raindrops did not fall on our heads
Howdy all. Not a drop of rain fell here yesterday. While the winds did bounce around with gusts in mid 30 mph range, All of the huge storms, and tornadoes and straight line winds around 80 mph, all stayed well south. And a few minor storms stayed over the lake as they passed.
I was out this morning watering my new plants in. And did my garden beds as well. The cucumber plants will not likely survive. They are looking bad after this 4th night in the row where temperatures fell deep into the 30s.
And giving them a bath in the ice water that was coming out of the hose, certainly will not perk them up.
Now the porncasters are saying storms tomorrow. With wind possibilities again. I would like the rain, but not storms nor winds.
I believe my lawn team will be back today to mow here and next door. That was their plan. At least the lawn isn’t wet. Well, only wet in spots where my freezing hands were shaking so much, the hose danced into the lawn from the places I was trying to water..
And a 5 pm update to this. Yep, they just finished the grass. Tough day for the 3 man crew. The bosses were off celebrating their anniversary and left Kyle in charge. Well, their newest person decided to not be in at 7 when he was supposed to show. That wasted a bit of time trying to get a hold of him and then waiting for him to show. And as one might expect, one of the mowers took a power crash at the first customer’s home. Had to load it back on trailer with manpower, and go back to base and pick up a temporary backup. My yard was the last of the day. They did something like 26 yards today. That’s a lot of work.
I don’t think I have any real plans for today. A 5 pm update here too. Spent a couple hours getting the 2 3D printers, and the 5 AMS units updated with the latest firmware. As normally happens, a couple of failed attempts occurred prior to success.
Other than that, I’ll be using a couple of those avocados that were in my fruit bowl, in a big store bought salad for lunch. Yummy, I hope. (5 pm update — salad was blah — I overdid the number of ingredients). The mango is also ready for eating. (5 pm update — it was yummy) Almost like my home in Florida, where I would pick them off of my trees, and really Enjoy Life.
