07-13-2025 — Update and pictures.
Howdy all. I’ve been falling behind on posting pictures of what is happening. Well, this will just be photos and comments for last few days. Hang on to your reading glasses.
Cucumbers are finally producing. Here are the first ones from a picture 3 days ago. This one was certainly picked by now.
And the first baby pepper about the size of a golf ball. It will be awhile before it is picked.
First oriental Lily that opened. Beautiful pink.
Ah, I pulled all of the potato plants in this 3.5×3.5 bed and harvested the potatoes. BTW, I am just going through the saved photos in order. I have no idea what will show up next.
These are the taters from that bed. After a quick rinsing. I put them on the tarp in the sun to dry and let the skins harden a touch.
Looks like a security camera shot of me taking a good part of those potato plants to the compost bin.
This was a harvest from 7-12-2025. I was giving these to my brother.
Security camera shot of my brother and I going out to “harvest” potatoes. He didn’t know I already did them, and we just needed to bag them up.
Security camera again. Here is the great “Farmer” hauling his bounty to his wagon to spread the goods to the family. That bag of potatoes and vegetables had to easily weigh 35 pounds. Should make a nice bowl of veggie soup.
What else has happened in the last few days. Well, AT&T had a two day outage in this neighborhood. I picked up the T-Mobile 5G internet which gives me faster download speeds than Spectrum Cable internet. And the upload speeds are insanely fast (to me) at 40-60 MPS instead of Spectrum’s 11.
I also picked up a pair of reading glasses with my prescription from an online vendor. I may have messed up the numbers though. I don’t read prescriptions for eyes often. I do know they make the screen look so sharp it almost hurts to use them. My “driving” glasses are in at the doctor’s office and waiting for me to pick them up.
I see I never mentioned what happened at the eye doctor appointment. Well, my astigmatism is worse than my nearsightedness. I don’t “have” to wear glasses, but I sure did want them to help with the blurriness. And as for my cataracts? He gives me 2-3 years before they will need surgery. Maybe less. I say, “we will see”.. I was amazed at how different an eye exam is today from just 6 years ago (my last one??). Every examination machine is like a freaking video game. I don’t play video games and never did. I was terrible with them. Add in my ADHD, and I don’t follow verbal instructions well, and when things would happen in the “game” I’d be distracted by them to the point I’d forget I was to click the clicker or say something. Just terrible!!
Ugh, speaking of distractions… I forgot I needed to shut the sprinkler off out front. I will go do that now and tell all to Enjoy Life.
