10-02-2025 — Just Breathe

Howdy all. Weather same. But chilly winds lately. Rain still in forecast in a week. Yeah, right. Driest August in recorded Ohio history. September couldn’t have been much better. At least 5 inch rain deficit was recorded.

Anyway, fall cleanup / winter preparation continues. I got a few more items off the list.

The cherry tomato bed went from this to clean. Oh, notice the greenery on each side of the shed.

Doesn’t that make the tomato bed look better? There are a lot of cherry tomatoes in the grass — more on that later.

The greenery on the sides of the shed is gone now too. Those are tubers that grow back each year, and after the flowers are gone, the greenery dies off.

Also removed greenery from behind the garage. Will need to store the hose reel soon.

This side of garage door is cleared too. Tools ready to go in garage for later attacks of shrubbery to come.

And to add a little color out the back patio door for the winter, I planted “roses” in the self watering planters.

Both sides, of course. Oh, and notice the green leaves growing through the railing and even above the deck on the other side. That sheet has got to go. It will either be hacked down by me, or by the lawn service when they do a cleanup after the leaves from the neighbors’ trees fill the yard.

I would have done that today, but I have run out of breathing time. The nasal passages clogged up and the lungs were screaming. And the heart rate was beyond what an old man should permit. Gee, what a way to Enjoy Life
